Surface Pre-TreatmentThe 3M sol-gel products provide surface treatment and adhesion enhancement performance on metal substrates on par with conventional chemical etch and anodize systems. Enables “on-wing” surface preparation for metal bond applications for challenging substrates such as aluminum, titanium, nickel and stainless steel. Complimentary to 3M corrosion inhibiting bond primers such as EW-5005 and EC-3917.

Structural Adhesive Bond Primers3M corrosion inhibiting bond primers ensure long term durability for the bonded substrates. These products are available in conventional solvent based chromated versions as well as water based chromated and non-chromated versions. They are compatible with both conventional etch and anodize surface preparations as well as grit blast-sol gel.
