The benefits of simpler connections

All 3M clamp-style connectors use Insulation Displacement Contact (IDC) termination. This method allows for much more than just quickly connecting sensors and other components. These connectors work together for signal, power and networking. So you can optimize connectivity across electrical systems in less time, with less labor, wire and waste. Using 3M IDC connectors is much faster vs. most crimp-style and screw-type alternatives and the compact designs are smaller in size and excellent for designs requiring reduced board footprints in complex, space-constrained applications. 3M offers IDC connectors for wire-to-board, wire-to-wire, relay junctions and branching applications.

Signal connectivity

3M IDC connectors are widely used for various signal and sensor connections as well as low-amp power. 3M Mini-Clamp and 3M Mini Stack connectors feature a compact design, excellent for quickly and efficiently connecting components in space-constrained environments.
Power connectivity

3M IDC connectors can be used for power transmission according to current and voltage ratings. 3M Power Clamp and 3M Link connectors add speed and efficiency to combination power and signal applications, such as connecting remote units and sensor networks to a power supply.
Branching and junction relays

3M Link Connectors allow for T-branching and splicing anywhere off of a main bus or trunk line. They can save considerable wiring, cable and space for connecting signal devices, sensors, power supply and field network components, and for extending trunk lines with junction relays.
