With imperfections on every vehicle coming down the line, clearcoat and paint defect repair is one of the most labor-intensive jobs in the plant. Operators work in close quarters to identify, sand and polish imperfections in the clearcoat as the vehicle moves down the line.
Speed, technique and high performing products are critical here to ensure continuous output — making our simple, 2 step process a perfect choice for most plants.
The 3M™ Elite Series Mini Orbital Sander packs the performance of our air-powered orbital hand sanders into a small tool that’s ideal for sanding small defects in painted surfaces.
All the benefits operators have come to expect from Trizact™ Finesse-it™ products: fast, consistent cutting action balanced by uniform finishing. These discs help remove surface imperfections from automotive paint without changing the surface topography, and the Microreplication design provides consistent finishes and longer life.
3M™ Finesse-it™ Buffing Pad - Gray Foam removes the abrasive sand scratches that were created to remove small defects in automotive clear coats. Our pads can also be used in the 3M™ Finesse-it™ Trizact™ Paint Repair System for AOEM paint and clear coats.
Part of a line of specially designed compounds and polishes to be used on OEM and baked refinish paints to remove sand scratches or to remove swirl marks from previously compounded areas and is designed to produce best results when used with an air or electric buffer equipped with 3M™ Finesse-it™ buffing pads.

The 3M™ Servo Random Orbital Sander provides more consistent speed when pressure is applied than an air driven tool.
The 3M™ Servo Random Orbital Buffer provides more consistent speed when pressure is applied than an air driven tool.
This component, also called force control, attaches to the robot arm and provides active compliance that allow the robotic tools and abrasives to maintain contact with vehicle surfaces at a specific pressure.
The 3M™ Repair Controller simultaneously controls the robots and tools to execute embedded repair recipes.
