    Our employees are the catalyst for 3M innovation and growth. In 2024, we began rethinking how to enhance connections across our globally distributed teams. Through on-site Collaboration Days, we create in-person connections at local 3M sites around the world that energize and spark creativity. We also continue to prioritize virtual engagement, ensuring everyone feels connected and able to meaningfully contribute to the success of 3M.

    Technical development
    3M’s Tech Forum is a self-directed and self-organized global community for interaction, growth, and development among our technical employees. Members share research and exchange ideas on any number of topics. Tech Forum comprises dozens of topic-specific chapters, including those related to sustainability.

    We encourage mentoring at every level in the organization because we know that relationship-based development helps employees navigate our culture and environment, take advantage of opportunities, and thrive in their career. The mentoring relationship can be formal or informal, functional or topic-related.     U.S. parental leave
    3M supports employees in both succeeding at work and thriving as a family. All eligible U.S. non-union employees who have newborn or newly adopted children are eligible for up to 20 weeks (10 weeks paid and 10 weeks unpaid) of parental leave.

    U.S. military leave
    3M’s paid leave benefits reflect our commitment to veterans. We offer up to four weeks of paid military leave for military training each calendar year to support eligible 3M employees in the U.S. National Guard or Reserve units. Eligible employees on leave for annual encampment or training may be entitled to differential pay for the difference between their 3M pay and their military pay.
