3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Structural Adhesive Film AF 501 is a next-generation 250°F (121°C) curing thermosetting epoxy adhesive film from 3M, building on a heritage of innovation that began with the company’s first epoxy adhesive film for Aerospace applications in the late 1950s. Engineered for the bonding of metal, composite, and honeycomb structures, AF 501 integrates smoothly into established aerospace manufacturing processes, with broad compatibility across surface treatments, water or solvent based primers, and standard cure cycle requirements. For shop-floor efficiency, AF 501 provides a minimum of 50 days out time at 23°C (75°F), giving teams production flexibility.

    Confidence in every bond

3M understands that reliable mechanical performance is critical in aircraft applications, and AF 501 is engineered to meet those demands. It delivers strength and consistency aligned with the flight‑proven, 3M Scotch Weld Structural Adhesive Film AF 163‑2. It maintains high shear and peel strength across a range of temperature conditions, helping ensure durable, long-lasting bonds in critical structural assemblies.
