In an effort to help those affected with lung disease, the American Lung Association, in partnership with 3M, hosted Minneapolis’ inaugural Oxygen Ball, an artistic celebration of breath, voice and hope. Nearly 300 guests and volunteers attended the inaugural event at the MUSE Event Center to raise awareness and funding for critical Lung Association programs.

In total, $140,000 was raised for local programs and services that work to inform and treat those affected with lung diseases such as COPD. These programs include:

      • Camp SuperKids – Helps kids with asthma be kids. Entering its 50th year, the camp has helped thousands of kids with asthma enjoy a camp as if they didn’t have asthma.
      • Clean Air Choice – Workshops to encourage the growth of alternative fuels to reduce air pollution.
      • Healthy Air Campaign – Work with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to ensure clean air for everyone.

“We’re honored to partner with the American Lung Association to sponsor this tremendous event to promote and raise awareness for those who are affected by lung disease,” said Cindy Kent, President and GM, 3M Drug Delivery Systems. “With more that 34 million Americans living with lung diseases like COPD, it’s more important than ever to help those managing this disease to live better, healthier lives.”
