An ounce of dental prevention worth a pound of cure.

Though nearly 100% preventable, tooth decay is one of the most common childhood afflictions in the United States, affecting approximately 20% of children aged 5 to 11 years based on a recent study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

3M Oral Care felt strongly enough about this issue that it pledged to donate dollars to America’s Tooth Fairy: National Children’s Oral Health Foundation®. This contribution will help provide preventive education and services that protect children from the devastating impacts of untreated tooth decay, including malnourishment, anemia and life-threatening secondary infections, as well as the degrading impact it has on self-esteem, employment prospects, social development and overall quality of life.

3M has also donated Vanish™ 5% Sodium Fluoride White Varnish as well as other products from its broad dental portfolio to support the delivery of care through nonprofit community clinics and programs.

Since its founding in 2006, America’s Tooth Fairy has distributed more than $17 million in vital community-based programs, educational materials, oral care products and financial grants across the U.S. and Canada.
