Before the 3M™ Sof-Lex™ Diamond Polishing System, dentists primarily used two choices for polishing tooth restorations. They used traditional rubber points, cups, discs and brushes that don’t easily produce satisfactory esthetic results, or they used a paste system, which produces a nice gloss, but can be messy.

With this new system, 3M has leveraged its abrasives expertise to create a polishing system that combines the gloss of a paste with the convenience of a rubberized system in just two easy steps. First, the 3M™ Sof-Lex™ Pre-polishing Spiral smooths and removes scratches that develop during contouring. Then the Sof-Lex™ Diamond Polishing Spiral, embedded with diamond particles, creates a dazzling, paste-like gloss.

What makes this solution even more attractive is that the Sof-Lex Diamond Polishing system can also be sterilized and reused multiple times, making it an economical choice for any practice. Other well-known brands of rubberized polishers are single use and must be disposed of after a single patient.

In addition, the flexible spiral shapes adapt to all tooth surfaces, so they can replace traditional points, cups, discs and brushes; and easy, pop-on mounting lets dentists quickly change spirals for improved efficiency.
