3M™ Cold Shrink Connector Insulator WF Series consists of EPDM, factory-expanded, open-ended rubber tubes that utilize cold shrink technology and are mounted on a removable plastic core. To install the connection, position it over the inline connector, pull the loose tab on the plastic core while unwinding the core in a counterclockwise direction, allowing the ends of the tube to shrink and form a secure seal. Engineered for primary insulation of solid dielectric insulated wires and cable splices rated up to 2000 volts, the insulators can be used for indoor and outdoor applications to provide a moisture-resistant seal. They are easy to install by hand, requiring no additional tools or heating sources. Accommodating a variety of cable sizes, 3M™ Cold Shrink Connector Insulator WF Series provides physical protection for high-voltage, air-insulated connectors, and lugs. These insulators are UL 486D Listed and ideal for direct burial or submersible applications — except 3M™ Cold Shrink Connector Insulator WF 100 and WF 105 — involving the insulation of secondary splices, copper, and aluminum conductors, service relocation, wind farm tower connections, environmental sealing for communications, and more. Thanks to their robust construction, the insulators exhibit high resistance to acids, alkalis while also withstanding backfilling operations. They can endure operating temperatures ranging from -40 °F to 194 °F (-40 °C to 90 °C) and meet the water seal requirements specified by ANSI C119.1. Learn more about the reliable and consistent insulating properties of 3M™ Cold Shrink Connector Insulator WF Series.

3M has over 40 years of lab-tested and industry-proven results demonstrating the reliability of cold shrink technology. 3M™ Cold Shrink Quick Insulator WF Series and the other products in the cold shrink family are engineered with specially formulated materials that deliver a durable environmental seal and insulation. Six diameter sizes can accommodate cables up to 2000 volts, ranging from 4 AWG to 2000 kcmil for both copper and 4 AWG to 1500 kcmil for aluminum conductors. For applications with high UV exposure or where visual inspection isn't feasible, it is recommended to overwrap the tubing with Scotch® Super 33+™ Vinyl Electrical Tape or Scotch® Self-Fusing Silicone Rubber Electrical Tape 70.
