3M™ Cold Shrink Silicone Insulators 8440 series is made of highly elastic Silicone rubber and is used both for the electrical insulation of polymeric or rubber-insulated cables up to 1 kV and for the protection and sealing of non-electrical applications. It also reliably protects connections between cables with different diameters.
The 3M™ Cold Shrink Silicone Insulators 8440 series is suitable both for indoor and outdoor applications as well as for underground or underwater installation. In addition, the Cold Shrink tubing ensures flexible kink protection and can also be used for cable sheath repairs. Quick and easy assembly by pulling out the supporting core enables reliable installation without special tools, such as heating burners. After assembly, the cold shrink tubing ensures reliable protection against moisture thanks to its constant radial contact pressure. Resistant to fire, excellent thermal stability and its resistance to acids, alkalis, ozone and UV radiation guarantee long-term functionality.
