3M™ Electrically Conductive Double-Sided Tape 5113DFT is an electrically conductive double-sided fabric tape (DFT) that provides high adhesion, low electrical resistance, long shelf life, resistance to high temperature and humidity and excellent grounding and shielding performance. It features a proprietary polyolefin XYZ-axis conductive pressure sensitive adhesive (CPSA) and a conductive matrix carrier (a nickel/copper/nickel-coated conductive woven carrier). This grounding tape provides excellent adhesion to a variety of substrates including metals and plastics and helps control signal interference through passive intermodulation (PIM) mitigation for higher signal integrity and performance. This double-sided fabric tape helps protect against EMI in a range of market segments, including general industrial electronics, aerospace and defense electronics, appliances, automotive electronics and IoT devices, communications infrastructure, and medical equipment.

Product construction

Top thicker polyester (PET) easy-release liner makes the tape easier to handle and convert.

Proprietary polyolefin conductive PSA filled with Ni-coated graphite particles is moisture resistant, enabling a stable four-year shelf life, is coated on both sides of the carrier.

The conductive woven fabric carrier makes the tape conformable and highly conductive.

Bottom PET release liner helps preserve the adhesive.

  • Usage spotlight: flexible printed circuit grounding

When a flexible printed circuit (FPC) is not grounded properly, the “bias” voltage yields unwanted signal transmission or EMI. 3M™ Electrically Conductive Double-Sided Tape 5113DFT helps improve grounding, reduce bias and lower radiated RF noise while preserving the mechanical freedom of the FPC.

    • High adhesion and low resistance create an initial and ongoing reliable grounding path
    • Temperature durability and long shelf life help maintain the bond
    • Conformability of a woven fabric carrier helps preserve the FPC flexibility
  • Product usage

3M™ Electrically Conductive Double-Sided Tape 5113DFT delivers a broad spectrum of performance across frequencies in grounding, attaching, PIM management, interconnecting and electrostatic discharge (ESD) applications.
