3M Flemington works to support and inspire innovation that will strengthen education in our community. Active partnerships, contributions, and volunteerism is the framework for how this will be accomplished. Following are some of the different organizations that our plant actively supports:
America’s Grow-A-Row
Franklin Institute Traveling Science Show
Hunterdon Central Regional High School
Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce
Hunterdon County YMCA
Hunterdon Developmental Center
NJ Astronomical Association
Raritan Valley Community College
Somerset Park Commission
United Way of Hunterdon County
We also sponsor a giving tree for the Hunterdon Developmental Center each year and hold a bi-annual Blood Drive at the plant.
The town of Flemington, New Jersey, is located in rural Hunterdon County not far from where the Delaware River forms the border between New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Known internationally as a glass and pottery craft center, Flemington is also home of the famous Flemington Fur Company. History buffs remember Flemington as the location of the 1935 “Trial of the Century”, where Bruno Richard Hauptmann was tried, convicted and sentenced to death for the kidnapping and murder of aviator Charles Lindbergh's infant son.
The arts and theater, farms, county and state parks, wineries, horse raising, fishing and hot air ballooning all abound in Hunterdon County. Nearby are many historical sites, dating from the Revolutionary War and earlier. Visit the picturesque campus of Princeton University. Rutgers University is only 30 minutes away. Visitors can be in New York City in just over an hour or in Philadelphia in about an hour.
The thriving metropolitan areas of New York City and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania are both just one hour away, providing endless opportunities to broaden one's life experiences.
