Volunteerism
Our employees spend numerous hours each year volunteering their time and efforts for various organizations such as Little League, School Board, community emergency responders, Lions Club, Habitat for Humanity, local food banks, and many school organizations to name a few.
We are very proud that a number of our employees have been selected as recipients of the company-wide 3M Community Volunteer Award. This prestigious award recognizes employees and retirees who volunteer to make meaningful differences in the lives of others and our communities.
Other Initiatives
Our employees also participate in a variety of area activities including the American Heart Association “Heart Walk,” JA Bowl-a-Thon, the Quad Cities Marathon, and the American Cancer Society Relay For Life. Since 1993, many employees have participated in “Sharing Tree,” a program which provides Christmas gifts to children in the surrounding three counties. Participation is employee driven, and the 3M Club contributes as well. 3M Cordova employees and their families provided gifts to 200 area children.

To support the community’s life-saving blood supply needs, we hold quarterly drives to supply the local Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center. Approximately 100 units are collected annually.
For a number of years we have supported our local educational systems by inviting them to participate in a free product giveaway event. This event has provided an opportunity for them to obtain a variety 3M products free of charge.
3M Cordova has an active Community Giving Committee with over 20 members. Along with leading the Cordova annual United Way campaign, the committee also sponsors a variety of activities throughout the year. Examples include a car wash and hot dog fundraisers to support Relay for Life; drives for school supplies, kids' hat and mittens, and toiletries which are donated to local families; and a Chili Cook-off to benefit the American Heart Association Heart Walk.
