Its 2:1 mix ratio formula dispenses as a flowable, off-white adhesive that provides a 20-minute working time window — supporting repositioning and realignment for accurate component placement during assembly.
3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesive DP420 Off-White is a two-part, flowable epoxy adhesive designed to resist impact, making it well suited for structural bonding of metals and composites. It reaches handling strength in approximately 2 hours and can also be heated to accelerate cure, providing flexibility for variable curing workflows. Once fully cured in 24 hours at room temperature — 73 °F (23 °C) — 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesive DP420 Off-White delivers structural bond performance that may be suitable to replace screws, rivets, mechanical fasteners, and spot welds in most applications, helping simplify assembly, reduce weight, and improve stress distribution across the bond line. Its toughened epoxy formula helps maintain bond integrity when exposed to humidity, temperatures, diesel, gasoline, salt water, and water. Engineered to tolerate high heat exposure of up to 392 °F (200 °C) for up to 30 minutes, this adhesive is compatible with common paint bake processes. It is well suited for panel bonding, composite fabrication, potting, and other bonding uses in transportation, metalworking, sporting goods, and general manufacturing. 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesive DP420 Off-White is supplied in bulk and Duo-Pak cartridges in 1.69 fl oz (50 ml), 6.76 fl oz (200 ml), and 14.07 fl oz (400 ml) sizes. It is compatible with the 3M™ EPX Applicator System for accurate metering, mixing, and dispensing.
