3M™ UV Activated Film 81025 is a UV-activated and curable film with semi-structural strength but handles like a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA). Delivered between two polyester silicone release liners, this clear, slightly yellow film creates precise bonds with very little shrinkage while ensuring good bond line visual appearance. With the added benefits of good shear strength, high modulus, and a thin profile, 3M™ UV Activated Film 81025 is a robust alternative to traditional bonding methods.
3M™ UV Activated Films and Tapes combines the benefits of three different bonding technologies into one powerful adhesive. They provide stronger bonds than standard tapes; they’re easier to apply than liquid adhesives; and they activate with light, unlike heat-activated films. Prior to UV activation, these films and tapes are stable and tacky at room temperature and can be easily converted into precision die-cut parts. Once activated, bond strength develops at room temperature, achieving green strength within an hour and semi-structural bond strength within 24 hours. These properties make them an ideal choice for bonding small components where high temperatures and pressures are a concern. Specifically, 3M™ UV Activated Films and Tapes are an excellent option for applications such as laptop track pads, fingerprint sensors, smartphone front cameras, automotive displays, enclosure bonding, heat-sensitive components, and more.
