3M™ Expandable Slot Liner ESL-FC190 is an electric motor slot insulation made from a core polyester film layer with a built-in, expandable, thermosetting adhesive and porous cover layers applied to both sides. It eliminates the need for subsequent, time-intensive impregnating resin application.
3M Expandable Slot Liner ESL-FC190 is a flexible slot insulation material that provides electrical insulation and mechanical protection between the stator core and stator coils. It is engineered for high-performance, electric vehicle traction motors that use direct cooling along with “hairpin” (or rectangular-shaped) stator windings. 3M™ Expandable Slot Liner ESL-FC190 can be applied using automatic insertion equipment. The adhesive expands and cures in minutes when heated rapidly to 160 degrees Celcius, electrically isolating the coils and bonding them to the stator core without the need for additional impregnating resin.
