3M™ VHB™ Tape 4991B is a high-performance and double-sided acrylic foam tape with PE film liner that excels on high and medium surface energy substrates. Because of the strength of the bond, this product can replace fasteners, rivets, and welds while helping to save time associated with welding, drilling, and using a liquid adhesive. Whether your operation involves assembly, mounting, fastening, or sealing applications, you can count on the power of secure adhesion across many industries, including signage, electronics, construction, general industrial, and more. Offering design flexibility with its viscoelasticity and high-strength formulation it joins a variety of surfaces, such as aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized steel, composites, plastics, acrylic, polycarbonate, ABS, and painted or sealed wood, and concrete. Engineered for chemical resistance and UV stability, 3M™ VHB™ Tape 4991B can be used indoors or outdoors while providing a wide temperature range for applications reaching a temperature up to 250 °F (121 °C) in short-term use and withstanding up to 200 °F (93 °C) in long-term use. This is your go-to solution for attaching decorative trim, nameplates, logos, electronic displays, panels to frames, and stiffeners to panel operations.
As a part of the 3M™ VHB™ Tape 4941 suite, a line of durable and permanent bonding solutions, 3M™ VHB™ Tape 4991B is designed to excel in challenging applications where two bonded surfaces may expand and contract differentially. In this family of products, a variety of tape thicknesses are available to meet the unique needs of each project as the ideal tape thickness depends on the rigidity and the degree of flatness of the substrate. In many instances, for example, a relatively flat and flexible material can warrant using a thinner tape. Whether your application is indoor or outdoor, involves medium or high surface energy substrates, or requires excellent plasticizer resistance, this bonding system is engineered to improve productivity, reliability, and durability. When looking for a 3M™ VHB™ Tape for your application requirements, there are many aspects to consider, such as substrate, thickness, quantity, expansion/contraction, bond flexibility, cold temperatures, and surface preparation. 3M adhesion experts can guide you through the options and help you select the correct tape for your next project.
