- Excellent for attaching to automotive surfaces with complex geometries
- White 3.18 mm acrylic foam core provides excellent wet-out to surface contours
- Acrylic adhesive on both sides delivers very high initial and final tack, peel and shear strength
- Adheres to a variety of automotive surfaces
3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 4225 is designed for good adhesion, increased stress handling and flexibility for attaching parts to contoured substrates. A 3.18 mm thick viscoelastic acrylic foam core provides stress relaxation when exposed to high application loads, and maintains tight bond-line aesthetics under normal conditions. Acrylic adhesive delivers excellent final tack, peel and shear strength.
Superior adhesion performance and high flexibility
Designed for Attaching Exterior Parts Even to Contours and Complex Geometries
Developed specifically for a full range of automotive substrates, 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 4225 is ideal for attaching parts such as side body moldings, rocker panel moldings and other parts requiring a combination of flexibility and stress handling. This tape features a 3.18 mm viscoelastic acrylic foam core which provides excellent conformability and wet-out, ideal for consistent attachment around contours. An acrylic adhesive applied to both sides delivers high initial tack, rapid build and excellent final adhesion as well as high shear and peel strength.
Thick Foam Core Handles Higher Loads
The thick, 3.18 mm viscoelastic foam core on 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 4225 conforms well even to complex geometries. It is engineered for stress relaxation when exposed to high stress loads, and maintains bond-line aesthetics under normal stress loads. The white color of this OEM approved tape helps create sharp bond-lines. A red, 3M branded liner provides easy one-piece release for efficient application.
Confidence in Your Purchase
The 3M branded liner features a subtle 3M logo marking to provide evidence to the customer that they are receiving the 3M quality they expect from their purchase. The liner makes our tapes easy to identify and difficult to imitate. Proprietary branding technology is designed to help identification of 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape.
