Benefits over sun control filmMany traditional sun control films work by reducing the amount of solar energy that enters a space, which often includes lowering visible light levels. All Season Films work differently. They use a specialized metallized layer that reflects long‑wave infrared (IR) energy - the radiant heat you can feel - to help keep heat outside in warm weather and retain warmth inside during cooler months.
By improving the U‑value of the glass, All Season Films enhance insulation and help slow the transfer of heat through the window. This can make areas near windows feel more comfortable by reducing temperature swings and draft‑like sensations. It may also help lower energy use, especially in commercial buildings.

Why should I consider 3M™ All Season Films instead of 3M™ Sun Control Window Film?
3M™ All Season Films, or Low E films, work much in the same way as the Sun Control Window Films except that they offer an increased performance against cold weather heat loss. The proprietary constructions of these films enable the metal coating to reflect more of the interior room heat back into the room where it is needed. This improves comfort by reducing potential draft feelings near the window, and may also save on energy costs, especially in commercial buildings. The LE films are also protected with our abrasion resistant coating for long term durability and maintained appearance.

How do you clean your 3M™ All Season Films?
After this 30 day period, customers can choose from a list of 3M recommended commercially available glass cleaners and cleaning materials, which include but are not limited to, Windex® Original Glass Cleaner and 3M Glass Cleaner Conentrate #1. To help prevent scratching of the installed window film, customers should not use knives, scrapers, brushes, or any abrasive cleaners or cleaning materials on the window. For more detailed information, please refer to the 3M Window Films Guidelines for Inspections, Cleaning and Maintenance Technical Bulletin Revision D, April 2024. A copy of these guidelines are included with your warranty.
