Bumpon cushioning materials can help protect valuable electronic components in an ever-widening range of challenging environments. You can use Bumpon cushioning materials to help reduce noise and vibration. Add stability. Improve airflow. And much more, to help keep electronic devices operating smoothly for the long term.

3M invented Bumpon cushioning materials – perhaps the original “rubber feet” – decades ago. Today, Bumpon cushioning materials are available across the globe, supported by world-class testing resources for complex electronics protection challenges.

Shapes and sizes
Bumpon cushioning materials are available in a variety of standard shapes and sizes, including:

Hexagons

Flexible, non-marring polyurethane material resists abrasion, staining, cracking and hardening over time. Bumpon cushioning materials are also available in roll stock for converting and custom applications.
Adhesives
Pre-applied, pressure-sensitive adhesives provide a reliable bond for your specific applications. Choose adhesives for substrate, tack, temperature and solvent resistance, shear tolerance and more. Bumpon cushioning material adhesives include:

Acrylic
Excellent for metal, glass and high-surface-energy plastics

Synthetic Rubber
High-tack adhesive works best on low-surface-energy substrates and coated surfaces

Natural Rubber
Very versatile; works well on most surfaces
Profiles

The profile of your Bumpon cushioning material allows you to manage adhesive contact area for maximized performance in specific applications. Profiles include:

A - Flat contact area. More adhesive contact for increased load capacity and excellent wear resistance.

B - Hemispheric contact area. Round or spherical shapes better absorb sound and energy.

C - Low profile. Choose for high strength and resistance to shear forces.

D - High profile. Use for heat dissipation, vibration resistance and easy alignment.
