While this tape works well on walls and pipes, its performance really shines on lane and floor marking. (DESCRIPTION) People walk along a lane on a floor marked with 3M vinyl tape, which features black and yellow diagonal designs. (SPEECH) Unlike many vinyl tapes on the market, vinyl tape 471 is made with a special backing formula that promotes a lay flat application. (DESCRIPTION) A person uses a push cart on wheels to apply 3M vinyl tape to a floor. (SPEECH) Many of today's vinyl tapes have a memory that makes the tape want to curl or pull up from the floor. (DESCRIPTION) A piece of dark blue vinyl tape with curled sides. A person applies 3M vinyl tape 5, 7, 0, 2, in a curve design on a floor. (SPEECH) Vinyl tape 471 relaxes and stays down for dependable floor adhesion. This also allows the tape to make reliable curves when needed. So remember, when selecting the right vinyl tape, the tape that lays down stays down. (DESCRIPTION) A box of 3M vinyl tape behind a pyramid of 3M vinyl tape rolls in yellow and black diagonal designs, white and black diagonal designs, red, dark blue, orange, dark green, or yellow. (SPEECH) Another important feature of 471 vinyl tape's backing is its abrasion resistance. (DESCRIPTION) A person wheels equipment over yellow 3M vinyl tape 4, 71, on a floor. (SPEECH) This is especially apparent on the tape's striped versions. Here, we have 3M 5702 and a competitive product. When the surface is abraded, the tape color begins to disappear on the competitive piece. On the 3M side, the stripe maintains its integrity. This abrasion resistance helps to assure your floor marking looks good and lasts longer, and longer lasting means less tape replacement and less time applying tape. (DESCRIPTION) Scrape marks on 3M vinyl tape 5, 7, 0, 2. (SPEECH) The vinyl tape's adhesive is unique as well. It's designed for long-term holding but removes cleanly from most surfaces. (DESCRIPTION) A person peels up 3M vinyl tape 5, 7, 0, 2, from the floor. (SPEECH) This helps avoid time-consuming adhesive scraping when it's time to change the tape. Vinyl tape 471 comes in a variety of vibrant colors, as well as a black and white stripe a.k.a. 5700, and a black and yellow stripe a.k.a. 5702. (SPEECH) Should you need to remove tape due to wear or new floor plan, it is recommended that the tape be lifted gently at the corner then pulled up at a perpendicular angle. (DESCRIPTION) A demonstrator pulls long strips of tape off a floor. (SPEECH) This can help minimize adhesive residue and any damage to the surface where the tape has been applied. If there is any adhesive residue left on the floor, it may be softened by use of many common solvents such as heptane, toluene, methyl ethyl ketone, or 3M Citrus Based Cleaner. (DESCRIPTION) A demonstrator sprays cleaner solution from a bottle on the floor, and wipes away debris thereon with a clean cloth. He uses circular motions with the cloth and applies the solution to the floor frequently as he cleans. (SPEECH) Be sure to follow the manufacturer's precautions and directions for use when using solvents. Prior to using any solvent to help remove adhesive residues, it is strongly recommended if the solvent be tested to determine the compatibility with the underlying surface finish in an inconspicuous location.
