  • COVERS A WIDE RANGE OF APPLICATIONS: Versatile disc handles finishing and stock removal applications

3M™ Cubitron™ II Hookit™ Film Disc 775L features 3M Precision Shaped Ceramic Grain, a revolutionary advancement in abrasive technology now available to grade 1000+. The triangular shaped ceramic mineral is designed to slice through the substrate, rather than gouging or “plowing” like conventional abrasives, resulting in a disc that cuts up to 2x as fast and lasts up to 6x as long as conventional abrasives without compromising finish.

These discs are now available with an extended grade range up to 1000+, making them ideal for a broad spectrum of applications, from aggressive stock removal to fine finishing. Effective on a wide variety of substrates, including metals, composites, all wood, paints, primers, and other coatings. The durable film backing offers greater tear resistance than paper discs, ensuring additional durability and edge retention for both wet and dry applications. For best results, use with 3M Xtract™ Random Orbital Sanders to maximize performance and efficiency. Our complete line of 3M™ Hookit™ discs is perfect for environments where adhesive-backed discs may become contaminated by dust or dirt. Hookit discs are less aggressive than 3M™ Stikit™ discs, making them ideal for achieving finer finishes. Hookit sanding discs attach easily to a hook-and-loop backup pad, can be removed cleanly, and reused throughout the abrasive's life, enhancing cost-effectiveness and convenience.

Results are based on total cut over four × ninety-second cycles on an automated test with maple material using 5 inch (127 mm) 80 grit discs and 3M Xtract Low Profile Finishing Back-up Pad 20290. Factors affecting disc performance include (but are not limited to) tool type and performance, tool orbit, disc back-up pad, grade, substrate, operator pressure, and dust extraction system. Achieving more than 2× is possible with an optimized system. 2 Lasts up to six times as long: Compared to 3M Aluminum Oxide Abrasive Products. Results are based on total cut over twenty-four × ninety-second cycles on an automated test with maple material using 5 inch (127 mm) 180 grit discs and 3M Xtract Low Profile Finishing Back-up Pad 20290. End of life is defined as when the 3M disc cut rate drops to 75% of the initial cut rate of the conventional abrasive disc. Factors affecting disc performance include (but are not limited to) tool type and performance, tool orbit, disc back-up pad, grade, substrate, operator pressure, and dust extraction system.
