During the public health emergency of the COVID-19 pandemic, these standard N95 “industrial” respirators may be used by healthcare professionals according to the U.S. FDA’s Emergency Use Authorization (EUA). 3M™ Particulate Respirator 8210 is not cleared by the U.S. FDA as a surgical mask, as a surgical mask and is not considered fluid resistant, therefore a face shield must be worn during use.

3M Particulate Respirator 8210, N95 is a disposable particulate respirator that is designed to help provide reliable respiratory protection of at least 95 percent filtration efficiency against certain non-oil based particles. This respirator is designed for use for particles such as those from grinding, sanding, sweeping, sawing, bagging, or other dusty operations. This respirator can also help reduce inhalation exposures to certain airborne biological particles (examples: mold, Bacillus anthracis, Mycobacterium tuberculosis), but cannot eliminate the risk of contracting infection, illness, or disease. The respirator incorporates 3M’s proprietary technology with advanced electrostatically charged microfiber filter media designed for ease of breathing. This respirator is compatible with a variety of protective eyewear and hearing protection.

This particulate respirator is NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) approved for environments containing certain non-oil based particles and provides at least 95 percent filter efficiency.

Breathing hazardous particles can pose a risk to your health. NIOSH, a Federal government regulatory agency, has tested and approved the 3M Particulate Respirator 8210, which is designed to help reduce exposure to certain airborne particles.

WARNING: These respirators help reduce exposures to certain airborne contaminants. Before use, the wearer must read and understand the User Instructions provided as a part of the product packaging. In the U.S., a written respiratory protection program must be implemented meeting all the requirements of OSHA 1910.134 including training, fit testing and medical evaluation. In Canada, CSA standards Z94.4 requirements must be met and/or requirements of the applicable jurisdiction, as appropriate. Misuse may result in sickness or death. For proper use, see package instructions, supervisor, or call 3M OH&ESD Technical Service in USA at 1-800-243-4630 and in Canada at 1-800-267-4414.

3M™ Particulate Respirator 8210, N95 160 EA/Case is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from BUT The weakness of the mask lies in breakage of yellow straps which shears on approximately 10 uses which I think is more because of packaging defect as 20 numbers are crammed and this puts pressure on the straps by folding them thereby making them weak at those points leading to shears. It gives a good tight fit until it shears. Strap material has to be changed to give it a longer life. I am using these masks since the outbreak of coronavirus.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Weak rubber straps not like older model. Much like the other reviewers, I have had a problem with the straps breaking after a day or two of use. The older version of the strap was much more durable and could be worn as long as needed without breakage. Hoping they return to the previous strap material soon, as this case isn't going to last me very long at the rate these break.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Impossibly to wear if you have a larger head Even with stretching the elastic a lot (often breaking it) these masks are impossibly tight to wear. I have never had any similar problem with other 3M disposable masks. 3M knows how to use fabric covered elastic on masks to do this well, why did they have to switch to this awful strap material (which also less easy to slide over you hair).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from One size does not fit most I have used 3M products for years and never had a fit problem. I am a size medium but I could not find a box of medium so I decided to purchase the one size fits most box. Apparently most people are a size small because these masks have to be on the tip of my nose to go over my chin. The straps did not break for me after pre-stretching but I can see where others can run into this problem because the straps do not stretch evenly. If you are not careful you can over stretch a section and risk breakage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits great! Fits great and this is such a classic mask I love it!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not like they used to be I have used the 3M 8210 respirator for years. These respirators are not of the same quality as they were pre-pandemic. The rubber straps are not bonded well, and break easily. Even pre-stretching the straps does not help. The previous style had an elastic strap, not rubber, and it was bonded fully through the material, not glued to the surface as the new style. If this is 3M's new design, I will be looking for a better replacement.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Weak Straps! I have purchased 3m N95s before and I would normally rate them as 5. But I am disappointed in this recent version. The straps are made of inferior grade materials and break easily while putting them on. In the past, for light usage tasks, I had been able to reuse the mask multiple times. This mask was only worn a few times and a strap broke. I reattached it, and it instantly broke again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Normal N95 I work in a factory where we do a lot of machining, polishing, and grinding. I've worn these masks or other 3M N95 masks for 8 hours a day, for a few years now. I can usually get a week out of them before the strap breaks, but that is more than enough time since they are pretty dirty by then. This is accomplished by stretching the straps before use. The straps are tight for the first day, but stretch out as you wear it and it becomes more comfortable. It seals tight around my face and is comfortable around my nose. The breathability is good and as the mask gets brown and dirty, the inside stays perfectly clean as it should. Only downsides are they are a little tough, but not impossible, to wear with safety glasses and during the summer when its hot, it's a little uncomfortable- not unlike most masks. In the summer I prefer to wear the 8210V that features an exhalation valve for better cooling and exhaling. I also found the 9010 fold type mask allows for easier usage of glasses due to its design. I rate all 3 masks 5 stars.
