3M™ Sealant SZ1000 for EV Enclosure Sealing is a two-part, cure-in-place, flame retardant, foam adhesive sealant designed for sealing EV enclosures such as battery packs in electric and hybrid vehicles. This EV sealant can be dispensed automatically and provides robust protection against ingression of moisture. It offers a resealable seal that can be opened and closed allowing for serviceability of the battery and provides good aging durability.
3M™ Sealant SZ1000 for EV Enclosure Sealing (A) is typically used in between the battery pack housing tray and the upper cover of the battery pack box. It should be placed along the enclosure flange (B). Surface treatment or priming of the substrate may be required for optimal performance.
3M Sealant SZ1000 can be dispensed automatically to help provide protection against water ingression.
Potential automation solutions include: 6-axis robot, material dispensing equipment, material dispensing platforms, heating/cooling equipment (optional for process control) and optional vision platform.
