3M™ Reflective Polarizing Mirror (RPM) is a polyester-based multilayer optical film with an optically clear adhesive. It is a reflective polarizer film that improves polarization efficiency by transmitting one polarization state and reflecting the other, recycling light back into the system, which increases brightness over a wide viewing angle. This increase in efficiency can be used to offset thermal load and more in automotive LCD applications. It can be used in half-mirror type automotive applications to provide increased brightness for the LCD unit embedded in the rearview mirror assembly.
