3M™ Fused Silica Rapid Cast System is a slurry system designed to offer foundries a more effective way to build better investment casting shells. The system is comprised of 3M™ Fused Silica Rapid Cast Flour and 3M™ Rapid Cast Accelerator. The system is proven to reduce the number of dips by 35-50%.

Improving Shell Room Throughput
Manufacturers are always looking for ways to increase throughput in and out of the shell room. 3M™ Fused Silica Rapid Cast System represents a major advancement for foundries to realize that goal.

When manufacturers use the 3M fused silica rapid cast system in their investment casting operations, they can use the same slurry for building detail and thickness. This helps reduce time spent on shell production, increasing productivity. A second benefit of this new slurry system is a reduced need for constant attention of liquid level adjustments. Plus, due to a dramatic improvement in shell knockout, manufacturers can often eliminate the standard molten caustic step altogether. These benefits together represent a solution that allows manufacturers to increase production capacity without increasing their footprint.
