  • PSG self-fractures during use to maintain sharpness and prolong abrasive life
  • Fewer wheel changes means speedier turnaround

The 3M™ Cubitron™ II Cut-Off Wheels with Precision Shaped Grain are engineered to cut faster than competitive ceramic products offering significant productivity gains. The collision repair professionals value its fast cutting action on heat-sensitive metals and its cutting efficiency, yielding 2 to 7x more cuts than conventional cut-off wheels in many cases.

High Performance Cutting
Long-lasting without loss of performance, our 3M™ Cubitron™ II Cut-Off Wheel efficiently cuts through even the toughest metal giving you better control while operating and over results.

One of 3M's best, this rigid, reinforced resin-bonded cut-off wheel features Cubitron™ II Precision Shaped Grain. When compared with traditional aluminum oxide, zirconia or ceramic grain, Cubitron II abrasives cut faster and last significantly longer. And, they require less pressure and less effort on the part of the operator to do the work.

Consistently faster cutting reduces cycle times. Less pressure means less wear and tear on the operator and cooler cutting action reduces the risk of heat-related stress and thermal damage. It all adds up to greater productivity.

3M™ Cubitron™ II Cut-Off Wheels are Type 1, or straight, wheels with a closed face grinding guard and are typically used vertically. The 3-inch wheel has a maximum operating speed of 25,000 RPMs; the 4.5-inch wheel has a maximum operating speed of 13,300 RPMs.

About 3M™ Cubitron™ II and Precision-Shaped Grain
3M™ Cubitron™ II abrasive discs, cutoff wheels and file belts have raised the bar for high-performing abrasives. Cubitron™ abrasives feature our Precision-Shaped Grain (PSG) technology, which allows our engineers to control the geometry of the abrasive grain for a truly fast, efficient cut. Instead of simply crushing the abrasive into particles, 3M uses microreplication to uniformly size ceramic grains and precisely shape them into triangular structures – essentially, sharp peaks that slice, not plow, through paint and metal. These grains are electrostatically oriented on the abrasive surface for the most efficient cut and even wear. What’s more, PSG fractures during use to maintain sharp abrasive edges. The result: Cubitron™ II cuts 30% faster and lasts 2x longer than conventional ceramic abrasives.

3M™ Cut Off Wheel Tool, 101mm (4")
Cut-off wheels are attached to a cut-off wheel tool (sold separately)
Recommended for Cutting and Heavy Stock Removal on Metal and Fiberglass
Use this wheel for cutting even the toughest auto body panels, frame rail, exhaust pipes, clamps and rusted bolts. Never use cut-off wheels for grinding. Cut-off wheels are attached to a cut-off wheel tool (sold separately) and must always be used with a wheel guard for safety. The wheel must have a maximum operating speed greater than or equal to the maximum speed of the power tool used. Use with ANSI-approved flanges for type 1 cut-off wheels only.

About Cut-Off Wheels: Fast, Precise and Cost-Effective
Cut-off grinding remains the most precise and cost-effective means of cutting apart unalloyed to high-alloyed, special-alloyed and hardened steels. Far superior to sawing, it is capable of cutting materials no other technique can cut. Unlike coated abrasive discs, which shape or smooth objects employing the face of the abrasive, these wheels cut at right angles utilizing the outer edge of the wheel. Cut-off wheels literally grind their way through the substrate, rather than chipping away with individual teeth and do so with a minimum of wasted material.
