The 3M™ Standard Modular Sliding Bearing System is based on the 3M™ Silicon Carbide family of materials, which have proven their reliability in millions of sliding bearings. It consists of a series of 12 carefully matched, ready-to install sliding bearing sizes.

Applications include magnetically coupled pumps, canned motor pumps, support bearings for immersion pumps and agitator and magnetic drives for stirrers. 3M silicon carbide standard modular sliding bearings can run in mixed lubrication conditions for long periods without seizure of the bearings occurring. At the same time, the wear rates are extremely low. The 3M standard modular sliding bearing system can be used in sliding bearing applications where Al2O3, Zirconia or SiC is used. The low engineering design effort and system integration costs differentiates the 3M standard modular sliding bearing system based on quick availability with an attractive price level.
