Excellent adhesion to difficult surfaces such as HDPE, LDPE, and PP
3M™ Adhesive 360 delivers very high initial bond strength
Provides high bond strength to dissimilar materials such as metals and most plastics
Polyester carrier adds dimensional stability and improved handling
58# PCK liner offers improved moisture stability
3M™ Double Coated Tape 9629PC provides high bond strength to most surfaces, including many low surface energy plastics such as polypropylene and powder coated paints. The clear polyester (PET) carrier adds dimensional stability to substrates and makes it easier to handle during converting and application.
Bonds to Difficult Surfaces Include Polypropylene and Powder Coated Paint
Considered a razor-thin alternative to glue, screws and rivets, 3M™ Double Coated Tape 9629PC is often used for a variety of applications, including general purpose joining, mounting and splicing. The tape offers excellent adhesion to a wide variety of difficult-to-bond-to substrates, including polyproplylene, HDPE and LDPE. The clear polyester (PET) carrier and tan 58# polycoated kraft paper liner on 3M™ Double Coated Tape 9629PC improve handling during converting and application.

About 3M™ Adhesive 360
3M™ Double Coated Tape 9629B features 3M™ Quick Bonding Adhesive 360, which features very high initial bond strength to metals and most plastics. This adhesive builds bond strength very quickly, enabling faster cycle times. It is excellent for bonding dissimilar materials, such as bonding to steel to plastics like polypropylene. This tape is commonly used in electronics, automotive and consumable medical device assembly.
What are Double Coated Tapes?
In general, double coated tape is composed of a paper, film, or tissue carrier that is coated on both sides with pressure sensitive adhesive. The adhesive is protected by a peel-away liner that can be removed at the time of application or left in place until the joining surfaces are ready to be attached. These tapes can be applied manually or automatically. Applications for double coated tape are found in construction, transportation, medical and general industrial markets.
Bringing Better Ideas to the Surface through Science and Innovation
In our 3M Industrial Adhesives and Tapes Division, we apply the science of adhesion to deliver innovative solutions that improve the design and manufacturing processes of companies around the world. In the end, our technologies help customers like you deliver competitive products to the market faster and more efficiently.
Pressure Sensitive Adhesive properties are frequency and temperature sensitive. 3M has developed Material Data Cards (MDCs) for common 3M PSAs for use with many commercially available FEA software applications. Learn more.
