3M™ Fire Barrier Plenum Wrap 5A+ is a fire-resistant wrap that consists of an inorganic fiber blanket encapsulated with a scrim-reinforced foil. Plenum wrap is designed as a strong, lightweight and flexible material for easy installation. This product is engineered to create a fire-resistive enclosure that can reduce flame and smoke spread ratings to acceptable levels in return air plenums.

Easy Installation for Tough Fire Protection
Wrap and protect plastic pipes in plenum areas more easily with our 3M™ Fire Barrier Plenum Wrap 5A+ (PDF, 317.4 Kb). Consisting of an inorganic fiber blanket encapsulated with a scrim-reinforced foil, this product is used to create a fire-resistive enclosure that can reduce the flame and smoke spread ratings to acceptable levels in return air plenums. We constructed this material to be a non-asbestos wrap with a 6 pcf (96 kg/m3) density. The strong, thin and lightweight product is extremely easy to manipulate and install, particularly around pipes and cabling. 3M™ Fire Barrier Plenum Wrap 5A+ is tested to UL 910 (NFPA 262), UL 1887, and ASTM E 84.

Recommended Applications
  • Single and multiple 1-inch diameter (25.4 mm) and larger plastic pipe and cable bundles
  • PVC, CPVC, PB, PE, PP, PVDF and ABS pipes in return air plenums
