Pin 14 with 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 5392 is a temporary fixturing part used to locate and hold the position of the windshield during the windshield installation process. 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 5392 is a 0.5 mm thick, high density, double-coated acrylic foam tape commonly used for attachment of emblems, nameplates and other light-weight exterior automotive trim.

3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 5392 (PDF, 172.96 Kb) is an excellent choice for attaching lighter moldings, trims, nameplates and emblems to automotive surfaces. This OEM attachment tape features two different adhesives applied to a thin acrylic foam core. The liner-side adhesive delivers very high initial and final adhesion for traditional and modern automotive paint systems. The non-liner-side adhesive is excellent for bonding to automotive trim and other components. The .5 mm viscoelastic foam core is engineered for stress relaxation when exposed to high stress loads, and maintains bond-line aesthetics under normal stress loads. The gray color of 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 5392 gives a pleasing bond-line aesthetic. The liner enhances die-cutting, and provides easy one-piece release for efficient application.
3M recommends the use of 3M™ Adhesion Promoter for tape-to-part adhesion with 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 5392 on all parts, especially plastics such as RIM, TPO, PPO, PP and PC.
