Ready-to-Use Aprons
Another simple, effective tool to save time and hassle in the shop — our Scotch® Apron Taper keeps masking paper and masking tape together, and allows auto body technicians to dispense masking paper ready to use, with tape already applied. The paper apron taper arrives fully assembled and can be placed on any horizontal surface. It can also be mounted on a wall or a bench, with four 5/16" holes in its tubular frame and a knife bracket that pivots upward 90 degrees for vertical wall mounting. The apron taper holds most Scotch® brand masking tapes 3/4" or wider. Models are available for 18" and 36" masking paper rolls.

Fast, Easy Masking
Setup of the Scotch® Apron Taper is fast and easy. Technicians simply load the paper and the tape (both sold separately) to their rolls on the apron taper, attach the tape the edge of the paper and thread the paper and tape through the knife bracket. The paper is ready to dispense with a simple pull and tears off easily and evenly. The result is a ready-to-use masking paper at any length desired with tape already attached all along the edge, saving time and money all the way through the process.

Additional parts, including a kit, are available for inboard paper apron edge taping (applying tape to both sides of the masking paper) or for dispensing more than one apron.

Making Auto Body Operations Easier
Our Scotch® Apron Taper is another way that 3M helps auto body technicians get the most out of their time and their operations. From its compact size (about 25 lbs. in package) to its simple design to the time and effort it saves on taping, our apron taper exemplifies what 3M does best: Science. Applied to Life™.
