Operators convert the Scotch-Brite™ EXL Unitized Slab into custom sizes and shapes for their unique applications. This product smooths, deburrs and finishes metal alloys, as well as many plastics and composites.

A Dense and Durable Abrasive
Scotch-Brite™ EXL Unitized Slab was engineered using a unitized production method. We cure and compress layers of non-woven abrasive web to create a tough and dense abrasive with exceptional durability. EXL material in the higher densities can be extremely tough, delivering aggressive cutting power for effective deburring of edges and corners without damaging the part. The lower densities are soft, conformable and finish finer. They work well for finishing contoured surfaces. Our EXL abrasives remove burrs without gouging or marring the work surface and produce consistent results.

Discover the Scotch-Brite™ Advantage
Nonwoven technology makes our Scotch-Brite™ abrasives unique. We intersperse abrasive mineral on synthetic fibers using resin — creating an open web construction. Spaces between the fibers permit excess material to escape, so the mineral does not become worn down by debris. It keeps the mineral cutting sharper longer, enhancing cut performance and increasing abrasive service life. The spring-like nature of the fibers works well on contours and responds to subtleties on the surface. Its responsive design effectively removes unwanted burrs, soils and contaminants without ruining the base material, so you get a consistent and uniform finish — part after part.
