3M™ Nextel™ Fabric AF‐12 is woven from Nextel 312 high temperature continuous ceramic oxide fiber that is designed to maintain strength and flexibility under a variety of extremely high temperature conditions. Nextel fabric AF‐12 outperforms the useful limits of many other high temperature textiles for improved performance in demanding applications.

3M™ Nextel™ Fabric AF—10, is woven from Nextel 312 high temperature continuous ceramic oxide fiber and is designed to withstand continuous high temperatures and can act as a flame barrier. It's designed to withstand continuous high temperature, passing FAA's flame penetration test. Due to the unique properties of Nextel 312 fiber, these products outperform the useful limits of many other high temperature textiles. Our Nextel fabric AF—10 is often used as a component in flame barriers and high temperature seals. It may also be used as a reinforcement for ceramic matrix composites (CMC) and polymer matrix composites (PMC).

Applications

  • Flame barrier and firewall components
  • Flame Resistance for struts, thrust reversers, fan cowl doors and aircraft engines
  • Reinforcement in high temperature gaskets and seals
  • Reinforcement in Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC)
