Scotch-Brite™ Hookit™ Conversion Face facilitate connection of Scotch-Brite™ non-woven discs (sold separately) to Hookit™ Back Up Pads, so operators can utilize a single back up pad/tool system for both non-woven and coated abrasive products.
Conversion Face Method of Operation
The conversion face has a high loft black brushed nylon loop backing to firmly attach to 3M™ Hookit™ Back Up Pads (sold separately) or as provided with 3M™ Orbital and Random Orbital Sanders. The hook side of the conversion face has small, white mushroom headed hooks which go through the web of the Scotch Brite™ 7447 Pro & 7448 Pro Discs (sold separately) and most other 3M™ Scotch Brite™ non-woven products. Scotch-Brite™ Hookit™ Conversion Face comes in several sizes to accommodate varying sizes of Hookit™ Back Up Pads. To use coated abrasive products, simply remove the conversion face from the back up pad and attach an appropriate Hookit™ disc.
The Many Benefits of Non-Woven Abrasives
Scotch-Brite™ Pro Discs are unique surface conditioning products that feature mineral coated on non-woven nylon fibers. Breakthrough fiber coating technology allows Scotch-Brite™ Pro abrasive products to cut faster and produce a consistent scratch, reducing the time and effort it takes to finish parts. Combining mineral with the fibers creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results for the life of the product. The open-web material is load resistant and keeps abrasive minerals cutting at high performance by limiting clogging of the nylon fibers. These discs are commonly used for tough cleaning, scuffing and finishing jobs.
