The 3M™ Flap Wheel 341D is a versatile wheel built with aluminum oxide mineral on a durable X-weight cloth backing. This small-diameter flap wheel comes with an integrated threaded mandrel and mounts to a die grinder for blending, descaling, deburring or setting a grain.

3M™ Flap Wheel 341D
Flap Wheel Engineering
Our 3M™ Flap Wheel 341D is engineered by arranging hundreds of tightly, evenly packed, overlapping abrasive cloth flaps radially around a hub. Each flexible flap on our 3M™ Flap Wheel 341D is covered with sharp-cutting aluminum oxide mineral bonded with resin. Mounted to a die grinder or flexible shaft tool, the flaps rotate centrifugally making continuous contact with the workpiece. As the flap wears away, new abrasive grain is exposed and the wheel continues to cut.

The flexible nature of the flaps make it highly conformable to surface contours and irregularities. Flap wheels are far less likely to gouge or mar the work surface. And the forgiving quality of this abrasive wheel allows even inexperienced operators to obtain professional results.

The 3M™ Flap Wheel 341D is available in 1-, 2 - and 3-inch diameters. A T84 threaded mandrel is attached to at the center of each wheel. The T84 mandrel has a 1/4-20 inch thread that screws into our 81A wheel adapter kit to attach the flap wheel to your power tool. Quickly spin the wheels on and off. No special tools are needed. Maximum RPMs are 20,000 for the 3-inch wheel, 25,000 for the 2-inch wheel and 30,000 for 1-inch wheel.

Recommended Applications
The 341D flap wheel is typically used on a die grinder to set a linear finish or set a scratch on stainless steel and other substrates. It is also used to deburr tube or pipe internal and outer diameters and for small or hard-to-reach areas where larger flap wheels are too big or cumbersome.
