3M™ Silicon Nitride is an extremely hard and corrosion-resistant ceramic material that is 60% lighter than steel. This material, Sintered Silicon nitride (Si₃N₄), is designed to offer a combination of excellent properties, including thermal and impact resistance, electrical insulation, and wear resistance. 3M™ Silicon Nitride offers a wide degree of design flexibility, making it an excellent alternative to stainless steel, superalloys, tungsten carbides, and first-generation ceramics such as Al₂0₃ and ZrO₂. These performance benefits make 3M™ Silicon Nitride an adaptable solution for applications in power generation, commercial vehicles, Electric Vehicles (EV), aerospace, chemical processing, oil & gas, and general industry.

3M™ Silicon Nitride is capable of providing a high degree of design freedom, helping to eliminate or reduce the need for hard machining. Components requiring close tolerances can be finish machined in our fully equipped precision diamond grinding facility.
