How 3M™ Cooling Film works:
When you apply 3M™ Cooling Film to the roof of a railcar, it helps reduce heat buildup at the source.
- Its highly reflective surface deflects more than 85% of incoming solar energy, limiting how much heat is absorbed and transferred into the railcar below
- The film also has high thermal emissivity-over 91% in the atmospheric window-which dissipates absorbed heat away from the surface and back to the cooler sky
This creates passive cooling to help keep railcar interiors cooler without external power.
