Content Use Agreement

Effective: January 25, 2023

We love your content! We are thrilled that you are considering allowing 3M to share it with others and we want to make sure you know how we’d like to use it.

If you allow us to use your content, your permission extends to 3M’s use of all components of your content, including your image, video boomerang, GIF, text, etc. You represent and warrant that you are the sole owner of the content, that you have authority to grant 3M permission to use the image of all persons and things depicted in your content, and that the content does not infringe any intellectual property right of any other person. You grant 3M a non-exclusive and non-revocable commercial right to reproduce the content in any form (including, but not limited to, video, internet posting, reproduction, display, email, publication, and distribution), either through our own services or services provided to 3M by third parties, throughout the world in any medium now known or later developed and without restriction or limitation. You agree that 3M and its brands, subsidiaries or others under our direction may create derivative works from your content and you waive any right to inspect and/or approve the finished work. You agree that you will not be paid or otherwise compensated for 3M’s use of the content. While 3M will make commercially reasonable efforts to give you credit for your content and provide a link back to your social media account when applicable, you agree that such credit is not mandatory and your permission for us to use your content is not contingent upon such credit being given. You agree that such efforts are good and valuable compensation and acknowledge that they are adequate compensation.

You acknowledge that 3M uses personal information you submit in connection with your content as described in 3M’s Privacy Policy https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/company-us/privacy-policy/, and that this information may be transferred to, stored and/or processed in the USA, which may have different data protection rules than your country. If applicable, you can also refer to our Privacy Policy for information about the rights you may have under applicable privacy laws with respect to your personal information.

You agree that if any provision, or any portion of any provision, contained in this Content Use Agreement is determined to be invalid under any statute or rule of law, then it shall, to that extent alone, be deemed omitted, and the remainder of this Content Use Agreement shall remain in full force and effect. This Content Use Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the state of Minnesota.

Lastly, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age.

If you choose not to give us permission, that’s alright too. No further action is needed.
