TWIST provides middle and high school teachers the opportunity to work with 3M researchers on real projects, helping them bring practical STEM insights back to the classroom.

STEP (Science Training Encouragement Program)

3M STEP, offered to St. Paul Public School District in Minnesota, introduces high school students to applied science. In STEP, we make science accessible to show how it helps solve real-world challenges.

Volunteerism and employee engagement

Our programs

Through 3Mgives, employees volunteer their time and skills and expertise to support communities by mentoring students, serving on nonprofit boards and helping people in need around the world.

Our flagship skills-based service program, 3M Impact, gives 3Mers the opportunity to travel abroad for two weeks with local nonprofits on solutions to pressing social or environmental challenges.

Matching gifts

3M supports the causes that matter most to our employees through our Matching Gift programs. 3M provides grants to organizations to match eligible contributions of volunteer time and donations. Earn $20 per hour from 3M for the qualifying organization(s) where they volunteer, up to $500 (or 25 hours) per calendar year.
