3M™ Dynamar™ Rubber Curative RC 5251Q is a sodium carbonate cure activator used as part of a system – along with 3M™ Dynamar™ FC 5157E and FX 5166 – specifically for vulcanizing polyepichlorohydrin elastomers. This cure system is used in veneer fuel and filler hose constructions.
Ideal for Veneer Fuel and Filler Hoses
In veneer fuel hose constructions, polyepichlorohydrin compounds cured with 3M™ Dynamar™ Rubber Curatives are capable of bonding directly to incorporated cure 3M™ Dyneon™ Fluoroelastomers and 3M™ Dyneon™ THV Fluorothermoplastics without the use of an external bonding agent. In non-lead containing polyepichlorohydrin compounds, 3M™ Dynamar™ Rubber Curative RC 5251Q functions as the acid receptor.
The recommended concentration of Dynamar rubber curative RC 5251Q is 8-12 PHR. It can be added at any point during the mixing cycle, however best results are usually obtained when incorporated early in the mix – preferably to the gum directly after polymer breakdown.
