Reach into tight spots easily with our versatile, durable and flexible Scotch-Brite™ Hand Pad 7448 PRO – an efficient alternative to steel wool for faster conditioning of metal surfaces and paint preparation, in comparison to conventional non-woven abrasive products. Unlike fine steel wool, Scotch-Brite Hand Pad 7448 PRO pad will never shred during use, rust after use, or leave fine metal splinters. It’s made of a durable open-web design that resists loading and aids the pad’s longevity. It’s designed to run cleaner and longer than steel wool. Our pad uses tightly graded abrasive particles to deliver a consistent, uniform abrasive action for their entire lifespan. It’s designed for ease of use, reaching into tight corners and intricate detailed surfaces, without changing the size of the base material. Use for cleaning, finishing and buffing with no need to adjust, turn over or replace the pad mid-task. Use our versatile hand pad manually, paired with a hand pad block, or run on an in-line sander for working faster on larger areas. Our pad is filled with silicon carbide abrasive mineral, a very sharp synthetic mineral typically used for low-pressure applications such as paint preparation. The mineral breaks down faster than aluminium oxide for a superior finish. Scotch-Brite PRO abrasives are unique surface conditioning products, comprising of abrasives incorporated into non-woven nylon fibres. This breakthrough fibre coating technology creates a faster cut rate and more consistent scratch than competitive non-woven abrasive products, for greater efficiency in a range of tasks. The combination of abrasives and non-woven material creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results throughout the pad’s lifetime. The open-web material is load resistant, which keeps the abrasive minerals cutting at high performance by limiting clogging of the nylon fibres.
