The next generation 3M™ Molecular Detection Assays can make your lab more efficient and also support sustainability.

Since 2011, the 3M™ Molecular Detection System has been detecting bad bugs like Salmonella and Listeria. Now a next-generation of assays (3M MDA 2) uses new chemistry based on 3M nanotechnology to give you rapid, reliable results. A single test protocol for all pathogens simplifies your lab’s workflow. Plus, up to four instruments can be connected to a computer at once, for mass analysis of multiple samples that can be performed in parallel. These innovations can reduce technician time by 30 percent as compared to the first generation assays.

But there’s even more (or a little bit less) to the new enhancements.

And due to the new chemistry featuring a more environmentally preferable design, 3M estimates that replacing all of the first-generation kits with new generation kits cuts manufacturing water consumption by 4,000 gallons annually. At a time when many countries are searching for solutions to water scarcity, every drop counts.
