    Higher efficiency. Lower cost.

Removing particles as small as 0.5 µm during the prefilter process can pay big dividends down the line – like up to 30% filtration cost savings *

    Better fluids, better results.

The higher quality of your source water after prefiltration, the better your whole process will be – especially the consistency and quality of your final products.

  • white icon of shield with check mark in the middle on blue green background
    Defense down the line.

High flow filtration does some of the upstream heavy lifting (microbial or micro-particle reduction) so your more expensive downstream membrane filters last longer.

  • white icon of triangle made of arrows with a leaf on blue green background
    Fewer change-outs. Less waste.

When your filters last longer, they require fewer change-outs, which reduces downtime and saves on labor costs. Plus, this filter can do the work of multiple traditional filters, meaning less waste going into landfills.

The new 0.5 µm 3M High Flow filter cartridge provides these additional benefits:

    • Microbial reduction for yeast and cryptosporidium
    • Up to 30% total cost of filtration reduction*
    • Greater efficiency gained at high capacity with the tighter micron rating

All of which mean the new 0.5 µm High Flow filter can provide excellent downstream membrane filter protection.

*Compared to traditional 2.5” diameter filter cartridges

3M™ High Flow Series Filter Cartridge

High flow capability in a compact design.

3M™ High Flow Series HF and HFM Filter Cartridges provide high flow capability in an outside-to-inside flow path that allows for small housing sizes and reduces the number of cartridges needed for your application, resulting in lower labour costs and a more sustainable solution. With a single open-end design and fewer individual cartridge seal points than 2.5 inch filters, these filter cartridges also help to reduce the chance of fluid bypass.

  • Waves icon
    High flow capability.

Designed to accommodate high flow rates for industrial applications, 3M™ High Flow Series Filters require fewer filters to maintain your process flow requirements.

  • Diamond pleat construction icon
    Diamond pleat construction.

Our proprietary diamond pleat design provides large surface area to help maximise filter loading capacity for a long filter life and a reduced number of required change-outs.

  • Horizontal setup housing icon
    Horizontal set-up.

3M High Flow Series Filters feature a horizontal ergonomic design in the 40 and 60 inch versions.

  • Hand pulling filter handle icon
    Ergonomic design.

Featuring a twist-to lock mechanism, filter change-outs are quick and easy and do not require any special tools or hardware for installation or removal.

3M™ High Flow Series Filter Cartridges are available in two types of system designs.

  • HF membrane under a microscope
3M™ High Flow HF Series Filter Cartridges

These high flow filter cartridges offer great particulate removal and surface filtration for a variety of industrial applications.

  • HFM membrane under a microscope
3M™ High Flow HFM Series Filter Cartridges

Featuring a thick media, these high flow filters are designed to filter deformables and organics. They also help prevent premature blinding of the filter’s outer surface, promoting fuller utilisation of the media for an optimal combination of particle removal efficiency and contaminant holding capability.

Each grade of the 3M™ High Flow Series Filters systems is manufactured in polypropylene material. The blown microfiber (BMF) media provides high particle reduction efficiency and a broad chemical compatibility. No adhesives, binders, or silicone are used in the manufacturing process. O-rings are available in a variety of materials to suit your applications. The maximum design flow through the High Flow HF and HFM cartridges is 85 gpm for 10 inch length, 350 gpm for 40 inch length and 500 gpm for 60 inch length filter cartridges. Results will vary depending on process conditions. Ratings from 1 to 70 micron absolute or 5 micron nominal are available. The maximum forward differential pressure is 50psid at 68°F (3.4 bar at 20°C) and the recommended change-out pressure is 35psid at 68°F (2.4 bar at 20°C). Work with your local distributor to find the right high flow filter housing for your industrial filtration needs.
