3M™ Double Coated Differential Adhesive Tape L2+DCD is a 6.7-mil double coated tape that provides excellent adhesion to multiple substrates. The faceside adhesive bonds to many open and closed foam surfaces while the backside adhesive provides excellent adhesion to low surface energy materials.

Ideal for Laminating Different Substrates
3M™ Double Coated Differential Adhesive Tape L2+DCD features 6.5 mils (.017 mm) of adhesive coated on a 6.2 mils (.14 mm), 83 lb. polycoated kraft paper liner. This double coated tape (PDF, 406.18 Kb) is ideal for laminating applications where two different materials are being bonded to each other. It is recommended where dimensional stability is valued over adhesive conformability and wet-out during lamination. It can withstand temperatures up to 225°F (107°C). The faceside adhesive offers excellent peel adhesion and shear strength to foam such as EVA, microcellular urethane and cross-linked PE. The backside adhesive offers good adhesion to low surface energy plastics such as polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP). The tan 83 lb. polycoated kraft paper liner provides die cutting and converting process capability.

Recommended Applications

  • Foam Lamination
  • Bonding of dissimilar surfaces
Double Sided Tapes Provide Solutions for Many Bonding Applications
In general, double sided (often referred to as double coated) adhesive tape is composed of a film or nonwoven tissue carrier coated on both sides with a pressure sensitive adhesive. These adhesive tapes can be applied by hand or with a wide web laminator.
