A fast, convenient and effective solution for any dental procedure that requires gingival retraction, 3M™ Astringent Retraction Paste is easily dispensed right into the sulcus through a composite dispenser. Our single-use capsule’s extra-fine tip enables precise delivery of the hemostatic paste, which gently retracts tissue and controls bleeding. This allows you to capture a detailed impression of the preparation margin quickly and with more patient comfort.

3M™ Astringent Retraction Paste

Retract tissues gently.

3M™ Astringent Retraction Paste is a fast, convenient and effective solution for gingival retraction, offering an advantage over gingival retraction cords that can be difficult and time-consuming to place. The extra-fine tip delivers a 15% aluminum chloride astringent paste right into the sulcus, gently pushing the gingival tissue away from the tooth so you can efficiently capture a detailed impression of the preparation margin.

One cord can be replaced by 3M™ Astringent Retraction Paste, enabling temporary retraction of the marginal gingiva and providing a dry sulcus on a healthy periodontium. It can be used for taking material-based or digital impressions and for Class II and V fillings.
