3M™ E-A-R™ Hi Fi™ earplugs feature an acoustical design that reduces noise level across all frequencies without distortion or muffling.
The 3M™ E-A-R™ Hi-Fi Earplugs, Hearing Conservation, have an acoustical design that reduces noise levels across all frequencies without distorting or muffling the sound. These earplugs provide lower attenuation than standard premolded earplugs, allowing workers to hear conversation and warning sounds more easily. Recommended for TWA noise exposures below 90 dBA. The premolded, triple-flange design makes the earplugs easy to comfortably insert. The earplugs are reusable, which reduces the long term cost of buying replacement disposables. One size fits most ears to reduce the need to stock various sizes of ear protection at worksites. These earplugs have a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 12 dB, CSA Class AL. However, research suggests that many users will receive less noise reduction than indicated by the NRR due to variation in earplug fit, earplug fitting skill, and motivation of the user. It is recommended that the NRR be reduced by 50% to better estimate typical workplace protection. Not only is noise present in our daily routines and recreational activities, but millions of Americans work in hazardous noise on a daily basis. Estimates from the National Institutes of Health suggest that hearing loss afflicts 28 million Americans. About one third of those cases are at least partially attributable to noise. Hearing loss due to noise is almost entirely preventable by judicious use of hearing protection.
