Rated 1 out of 5 by from Faulty Tape It is impossible to remove the tape backing. I purchased two 2120W-6 kits from Ace Hardware and both tape rolls are the same issue. I've used 3m film window kits several years ago and they worked fine.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Tape Failure I bought several patio door insulation kits and I have never experienced this before. I CAN NOT remove the backing off the tape. I was hoping to get this project done and I couldn’t even get the first one started. I am very frustrated. I have used kits like these for years and have never had this problem. I spent the extra money to 3M due to good reviews and now I’m dead in the water and can’t use this nice day to get these windows done. Maybe a bad batch of tape this year!? Now I have to waste more time and money to go buy new rolls of tape. I am very unhappy about this.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Tape Problems This Yesr? I know times are tough, but I think 3M cut some corners in quality control and production this year. I have been doing over 20 windows a year for over 30:years in an older home with wooden frame windows. This year, protective backing does not separate from the tape in the boxes I bought. Exchanged my bad tape for tape-only packages and that worked fine. That is how I discovered the problem. I started with a roll I bought separately and it worked fine. When I started a new roll from a box, I had problems. Tried several other rolls from the kit boxes and had problems with all of the. This was the first time in over 30 years that I had problems. By the way, many years ago I tried the cheaper brand sold at Ace and it was horrible. Left marks on my woodwork. I will never again use anything but 3M because it comes off the woodwork so cleanly. 3M costs more, but it’s worth it. I think 3M cut corners this year and it was manifested in some bad tape. Times are tough, I know. I hope it doesn’t happen again. To reiterate my experience, the tape in the kits may be defective this year, but the tape sold separately (I used 8 rolls) is fine.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I've spent 4 hours on 1 window and it still isn't This was horrible. I think with 2-3 people we could have gotten it installed better. It was just me. Plus you need either a big table or large floor to lay out the film so you can measure and cut. And it rips easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great job We have new windows on our house, but we still had a draft in the winter time. We bought these insulator kits and they made a huge difference. They are easy to install, not flimsy, and they don't tear when you are placing them. You can still see out of your windows, and it cuts down on heating expenses. I would definitely recommend them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product for midwestern winters I received this as a free sample in exchange for my honest opinion. We have had some very cold, windy and snowy weather so far this winter. We have had quite a few days and evenings where the air temperature has gone below zero. The inulator kit is easy to install, the film is a nice thick quality so that it does not tear while installing. You can tell there is a film on your windows, but you can easily see outside clearly. I would purchase this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I received a free sample of the 3M indoor window insulator kit from 3M. I was very pleased with the product. First, it was very easy to use. I had no trouble attaching it to the window frame. The tape stuck well and the plastic was easy to readjust and it stayed stuck to the tape. Also, the plastic was very clear after putting it on. Yes, you can tell there is plastic on the window, but the view is still quite clear. Finally, I the plastic has helped the room feel warmer. The room is usually cold and the plastic has definitely cut down on the chilliness. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product and look forward to using it again.
