The thin material has excellent mid frequency absorption without sacrificing performance in high frequencies.
3M FAB1210 combines multiple NVH acoustic properties in a single, non-molded material. It can potentially eliminate molding steps – and the costs associated with molding – for an overall lightweight system solution. 3M FAB1210 offers the opportunity to replace multi-layer NVH solutions, such as, EVA and foam, with a single layer material.
3M FAB1210 outperforms typical absorbers in the mid frequency range (500-2000 Hz) without sacrificing performance at higher frequencies (>2000Hz). This makes it excellent to address externally generated mid-to low frequency noise less at than 1200Hz. Typical noise in this region may stem from tire, road or stereo boom. By addressing these difficult to treat range, we help OEMs meet NVH requirements and increase passenger comfort by decreasing tire and road noise.
