3M™ LifeASSURE™ BDA Series Filter Cartridges are dual-layer, asymmetric microporous PES membrane filters for sterile filtration designed for bottled water and other beverage processing applications. Combined with 3M’s particle control and pre-filtration filters, these cartridges offer bottlers a complete solution for rigorous contaminant control with a long service life and low operating costs.

Highly asymmetric BDA membrane.3M™ LifeASSURE™ BDA Series Filter Cartridges incorporates a dual-layer asymmetrical membrane that reduces flow resistance, which results in a lower pressure drop, fewer filters required, a greater contaminant retention capacity and a longer service life.

Advanced Pleat Technology (APT).3M’s APT design helps to maximize the useful surface area of the filter while maintaining open flow paths between the media pleats. It also provides lower pressure drop, a longer service life and lower overall operational costs.

Robust media support design.Combining the special upstream and downstream membrane support layers with the APT design greatly increases per-cartridge flow rates, resulting in lower overall operational costs and a longer service life.
3M™ LifeASSURE™ BDA Series Filter Cartridges contain two layers of PES membrane. The upstream layer is rated at 0.65 μm while the downstream layer is rated at 0.2 μm. Our testing has shown this arrangement results in a long service life while maintaining the necessary retention of microorganisms. 3M™ LifeASSURE™ BDA Series Filter Cartridges have been validated with a 0.2 μm rating for complete retention of Brevundimonas diminuta (B. diminuta) (ATCC 19146) at a concentration of 10 7 CFU/cm2 or greater.
